Hunting is one of the easiest jobs to do. It requires no preperation and the rewards are not contingent upon selling anything, rather, one can make a easy living simply by equiping their hunter cape and running around killing thiefs in your spare time. While the gold for simply killing opposing jobs is much lower comparitively, it is much easier to gain, and is not lost if you are killed. Simply wait a week from whenever you performed an action as a hunter, and you can recieve a monetary reward from the Hunter Associate.
